Utami Hayashishita has officially announced her departure from Rossy Ogawa’s joshi promotion, Dream Star Fighting Marigold. She has only a limited number of working dates remaining with the company.
Following her loss to Marigold World Champion Miku Aono at the Marigold Spring Victory Series show on April 25, 2026 at Korakuen Hall, Utami addressed the audience in an emotional post-match speech and revealed that she will soon be leaving the promotion.
In her heartfelt message to the crowd, Utami stated:
“I will be leaving Marigold. It’s not because I lost or anything. I’m not that kind of uncool person. I actually made this decision a long time ago and have already been discussing it with the company. So I won’t be leaving right here and now just because I didn’t win the belt today. Please allow me to report to everyone that I will be leaving.”
She went on to reflect on the friendships she built during her time in Marigold:
“Being able to participate in the launch of Marigold and meet so many wrestlers has been incredible. The ring is amazing, but behind the scenes too… I’m a bit shy, but everyone talked to me so much that I’ve made many friends. They feel like younger sisters… almost like daughters.”
Utami also addressed her remaining time in the promotion:
“I will announce my final day later. For now, the time I can spend in this Marigold ring is limited. I don’t like sad goodbyes, so please spend as much time as you can with Marigold’s Utami Hayashishita until the very end.”
She expressed her desire to inspire the next generation of wrestlers in her remaining matches:
“To all the other wrestlers, let’s create fun memories during this period. Take this opportunity to spend even a little time with Utami Hayashishita and become someone who can challenge Miku Aono next.”
Utami concluded by thanking her opponent while expressing her frustration at falling short of the championship:
“Anyway, I didn’t mean to make the atmosphere like this. I really wanted to take the trophy and that belt home… it’s incredibly frustrating. But being able to fight Miku Aono has made me want to keep working hard and aim even higher. Thank you, Miku.”

After her speech, Miku Aono embraced Utami, and both women were seen breaking into tears. The emotional moment left the entire Korakuen Hall audience teary-eyed as the show came to a close.
