Former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida made her long-awaited return during the AEW Collision tapings on April 1, 2026, answering Willow Nightingale’s open challenge for the TBS Championship after nearly 16 months away from the company.
The April 2, 2026 episode of AEW Collision was pre-taped following AEW Dynamite on April 1 at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During the taping, Shida answered the open challenge issued by TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, making her much-anticipated return to a huge ovation from the live crowd.

Videos of Shida’s emotional return quickly spread on social media, drawing a very positive response from the IWC, with many expressing relief and excitement at seeing her back in an AEW ring after such a long absence.
Shida’s last match in AEW took place in November 2024. She had been absent primarily due to visa-related issues but stayed connected with her fans through regular video game streams on Twitch.
