WWE is already making plans to sign Persephone once her dual contract with AEW and CMLL expires in the second half of 2026. She could potentially become the second major female talent to jump from CMLL to AAA following WWE’s acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), discussions have already begun within WWE’s management about signing the 24-year-old star as soon as she becomes a free agent. Meltzer said:
“Those in WWE are already talking about trying to get Persephone when her dual contract expires later this year.”
Persephone stands out as one of the rare talents in the pro wrestling industry who is fluent in both Spanish and English. This makes her a highly valuable asset for a global promotion like WWE, as she could transition smoothly between AAA and WWE’s main roster shows such as Raw and SmackDown.
Recently, former CMLL star La Catalina made her debut for AAA after her contract with CMLL expired. If Persephone also joins the AAA roster, she would become the second prominent female talent after Catalina to make the move from CMLL to AAA in the post-acquisition era.
