IYO SKY and Sol Ruca faced each other in a battle of present versus future on the May 11, 2026 episode of WWE RAW. The match was not advertised beforehand, and fans were shocked when it was announced at the start of the Monday Night RAW broadcast. Many are calling it a pay-per-view caliber dream match.
Asuka also appeared on the show, delivering her final goodbyes backstage in a passing-of-the-torch moment to IYO SKY. It appears Asuka’s WWE career has finally come to an end, although many are hoping for a future return from the Empress of Tomorrow.

Asuka told IYO that she is proud of her and that she had been looking for someone to take her place. She was glad it turned out to be IYO. The two shared a warm hug, after which IYO gave Asuka an emotional goodbye. Asuka then grabbed her suitcase and left the arena.
- The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Paige and Brie Bella, entered the ring and called out Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, who had been staking their claim as the next challengers for the titles. Roxanne and Raquel answered the challenge and entered the ring, where they began throwing insults at Paige and Brie, calling them washed-up has-beens. Roxanne even expressed disappointment in having met Brie years ago, recalling how Brie once told her she wanted Roxanne to be the next Brie Bella. Roxanne questioned how dare she set the bar so low. The four women soon got into a heated brawl. Liv Morgan then entered the ring and took down both Brie and Paige. In the end, the heels Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez stood tall in the ring.
- After defeating Sol Ruca in a very intense match, IYO SKY was seen shaking hands with her opponent as a sign of respect from the veteran to the rising star.
- Backstage, IYO SKY told Sol Ruca that she is the future and thanked her for the great match they had earlier in the night. As soon as IYO walked away, Becky Lynch passed by and mocked Sol, saying, “You even lost to IYO Jannetty.”
